Jute and jute related work is the major revenue-earning source of the Trust. Till now the lion portion of the total revenue of the Trust is being earned from this sector. The jute premises in Narayanganj was bought by Mr. R.P. Shaha from M/s. George Henderson & Co. which was a Scottish owned company. The rental of warehouses and the river transport company which was mainly engaged in carrying exportable goods were the main income source of the Trust.

Due to the worldwide depression in jute sector the Trust has directly been affected. It has not also been possible for the Trust to cope with the fast changes and to diversify to other fields due to shortage of invest able surplus
