Nursing sCHOOL For time since Kumudini Hospital started its operation there was a shortage of trained Nurses. But adequate number of trained Nurses is indispensable for hospitals such as Kumudini. Abandoned and widowed women from poor families in the village were trained to assist the few Nurses available. R P Shaha had also undertaken other different programs for development of these destitute women who are basically victims of their surrounding circumstances. Particularly the destitute and distressed widows were rehabilitated as hospital workers. In 1973 the Kumudini Nursing School was established with the objective of bringing out trained Nurses who would provide professional care to the sick. The Nursing School is accredited by the Bangladesh Nursing Council and offers a 4 year Senior Nursing Course. Each year 30 students with a minimum Higher Secondary Level education are admitted to the course. Located close to the Hospital the Nursing school provides all relevant theoretical and practical training. Residential hostel for the students is closely located.

BSc Nursing College Kumudini has got the experience of running the renowned nursing school since 1973.We believe that with our experience and knowledge we should be able to run a B.Sc Nursing College with success. Nursing is a profession which is not looked on with dignity and honour in our country. It is not given the proper value and dignity. There is only one B.Sc Nursing College run by the Government of Bangladesh .Ku In private sector up till now there is no nursing college which has come up . But there is a huge shortage of skilled nurses in Bangladesh and also abroad . If we can set up a Nursing College these graduates will not only be able to work in the country but also will get opportunities to work in Europe , Middle East and united States . We want to give them the practical exposure from the very beginning along with English and computer literacy. |

Class in Nursing School The survey report says that a big number of nurses from Philippine , India and Sri Lanka are given opportunity to work in various hospitals in Europe, America and Middle East countries .The nurses of Bangladesh will work with same side by side. This will directly benefit Bangladesh in earning with dignity and prestige. Here we would like to mention that the proposed Kumudini Nursing College would enjoy all sorts of support from Kumudini Hospital , Kumudini Women's Medical College , Kumudini Nursing School and Bharateswari Homes. To set up this Nursing College the Trust would be require infrastructural facilities both for academic and residential accommodation for the students. |
